Just a quick note to say that I’m in the middle of the Graphic Makers Cook Off over at the AU forums. I’m nearing 100 graphics, so when I do finally find the time to revamp/reopen the portfolio half of this site I should have a nice selection to choose from! Holidays start next week, so I should find the time then.
The daily challenges for the cookoff have been awesome. I was really pleased with my attempt at the first one- vanishing something.

And the one I did just now turn out alright, too.

I’ve been spending so much of my time just browsing through what everyone else has done, too. It’s amazing what people can come up with so quickly. You can check out the thread here. Be warned, it is image-heavy.
{{I’m competing under the alias of Celebwen.
A little reminder of the days when I was paranoid of internet-safety. Now two names is just confusing. :S }}
{{{Oh, and a big hugs to Eliwen, Erica and Mel.
}}}
So, it’s been forever. I give in. I think I’m beginning all over again. I’ve started checking out AU again, and I think I really need some inspiration in the photoshopping department, but I sense that coming too.
Oh, and the over-obsessiveness of fans is really freaking me out. Watching clips from the MTV awards, and stories of people sleeping outside the hotels the Twilight cast were staying at in Italy. I am in awe of anyone who manages to not suffer a nervous breakdown with that kind of attention. And am utterly perplexed by anyone who would sleep at the gates of a hotel just to see a guy (or gal!) who just happens to be in a movie. Hello, they’re just people. We all see people everyday. Move on.
And please, don’t get me started on the paparazzi.
But now… a random thing I found. It’s just the mood I’m in. I’m 18 in a few days, so yeah. It is semi-relevant.

A fascinating new article- about Kiwis having a go at Aussies on American TV.
Flight of the Concords cracks me up. Really, all I can say is- At least we’re descended from convicts, not sheep!
We give them so much shit over here, though. Them and the Tasmanians. It’s kinda good they’re able to give some back.
47 hours and 30 minutes I will officially be on holidays. I am elated.
I am also trying to avoid facing the fact that in the next 47 hours and 30 minutes I have to sit 2 SACs. (School Assessed Coursework - basically a test that counts towards your final result.)
I did the first half of my drama one today, which went pleasantly. I wrote about 3 pages (both sides!) and have only finished half the questions. Hmmm.
And the legal SAC is all about The Commonwealth of Australian Constitution Act, 1901 (UK), and everything that goes with it.
It is interesting, but only for the first half an hour. Not over 10 hours of it.
Did you know that the Federal Government of Australia may make laws in any area, so long as they are acting to ‘fulfill their international obligations under treaty’? Section 51, regarding external affairs. Which basically means the Federal Gov has a way around any State doing anything they don’t like…. they just need to sign a treaty, and they become all powerful.
Legal is teaching me what bullies governments are.
Anyway…
Holidays are going to be so awesome. I have only one goal, and that is to make and eat nachos. I think it’s achievable in two weeks.
Site: So the little section of navigation is gone. Vanished. I’m kinda re-working the rest of the site, and am happy to have just a blog for a bit.
Life: I spent all of Friday in the city, from 11am to 11pm. I went to see a show of the top school drama solo performances from last year, which was fantastic. Then I hung around and watched a friend shave her head to raise money for cancer research. She looks waaay different!! But shorter hair actually kinda suits her.
In other area’s of my life…. school is dull. But there is lots of work. And even more study. So at least I’m not running out of things to do, yeah?
I’m accompanying a friend to his school formal (!strictly friends!), and I just found out that it requires a ‘long’ dress. This means below the knees. Now, I have a very nice dress which I wore to my own formal, but it’s just a little too short. As much as I enjoy shopping, I really don’t want to have to spend more money on a dress. I payed quite a bit for the one I already own, figuring that it’s black, versatile, and I’ve stopped growing. So this little, unemployed girl is gonna have to find a dress!!!
And what she really wants to spend money on is a copy of Twilight. She’s in a romantic novel mood right now. And she wants to be finished school and free to pursue a career. Two more years is a miserable, depressing prospect. Maybe I’ll get an agent.
Well, I still don’t like the ‘blog’ bit… not too happy with the boxes, but it’s a start. All seems to be functional. I’m kinda liking this layout… a nice change from the usual style. I’ve yet to add a side navigation bar, but that’s just another thing on my list.
I haven’t changed the rest of the site either, but I’m hoping to split it all up a bit, so it might have to wait. I have a French SAC to prepare for. And I think I might need to have dinner.
Things are picking up pace with year 12, but perversely enough I’m hoping that will give me more time to work on the site and photoshop etc. Having a more structured routine, rather than just doing things as a I need to, should (in theory) leave me with a fair bit of down time.
Have about 30 seconds before I leave for school, but I just put up a new layout. Still tweaking the style sheet a bit. So yeah.
Well, I’m updating. *falls off chair in shock*
Yeah. I’m just a tiny bit slack. Here’s a summary of what’s happened lately…
-I’ve added a new twilight blend.
-I’ve put up a photo album, mainly of my time overseas.
-I’ve begun year 12 (final year) French, so I’m all stressed about not being about to speak fluently, and hence getting into the habit of attempting to translate anything I say in english into French. I think it’s kinda getting on the nerves of my family.
-I’m back at school and considering dropping dead of boredom.
-Discovered shopping at markets…. now I just need a job to fund myself….
As some of you may know I live in Melbourne, Australia. As you might also know, in there past few days there have been some pretty horrific fires. Bush fires are a part of every summer here, but this year over 200 people were killed. I ask that you think of/pray for those effect. Many people lost everything, and didn’t even have insurance. The response from the people of Australia has been amazing, but it’s going to be a rough few years for everyone involved.
There are several laws under review as a result, including one that states all people have a right to stay and defend their property from fires if they wish. The government is saying they should be able to force people to evacuate. As much as this could say lives, I really hope they don’t introduce this policy. I believe that people have a right to make an informed decision as to what they wish to do.
I hope which ever decision is made it is the right one.
Firstly: It’s taken a while, but wordpress functions. And I know how to use it.
Secondly: I’m back home. 7 months in Europe, and I’m finally back in Aus. Sweden was freakin’ awesome, but I’ve hit the ground running back here. I’ve been cast in An Ideal Husband (yay!), and also roped in to help direct some scenes. The ones my character isn’t involved in.
I’m back at school doing French, maths methods and drama. Not a full subject load, but I am catching up on a years work! (except for methods… which I’ve done before but forgotten!!)
Lots has changed while I’ve been gone. I’ve ended it all with a desperate craving for time to rewind or fast foward. 2 or 3 years, either direction would do. Back when I was barely at school, engrossed in photoshop, LotR and AU forums. Or foward, doing something exciting. Not bloody study!!
I’m currently listening to some awesome music on youtube. Not really watching, just listening.
Dima Bilan. Okay, so he entered Eurovision. But if I try really hard I can forget that, and just enjoy some of the Russian and the music.
Ty dolzhna ryadom byt
There is actually an english version to the song, but I think I prefer the Russian for this one.
And finally, I just found the best blonde joke ever. Seriously.
